The Corner of Too Smart and Vaguely Disturbing

Donny and I were having a snack this afternoon. I had just finished a little bottle of San Pelegrino that I'd taken home from the coffee shop. He likes it when I blow into bottles so I did a nice loud note for him. "That's a B," he told me.

I mentioned this to Mike tonight, who took the bottle into the living room and played it while playing a B on the piano. He came back into the kitchen with this look on his face and said, "It's a B."

Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit....

Jess--

He doesnt take music lessons, tho I did take him to see a Suzuki piano teacher who said he has "gifts." I think its more that my Mom sent us her old piano and we let him do whatever he wants with it. Once Mike and Mike's dad showed him some chords, he kind of took off from there. I was over at one of Donny's friend's houses and the amount of toys was staggering. I wonder if lack of plastic shit is part of the intent focus on the piano.

wow, that is really wild. there has to be some sheet music for protest songs he could ask for for his birthday, right?

the amount of toys kids have is insane. in my experience, all they really need is 1 computer, 1 nerf gun and an unlimited supply of drawing paper and expensive pens your moms don't want you to use.

And don't forget the sewing scissors to use on construction paper and cardboard tubes.
